The High One loved Leus. No one could...

Ok I'm out of time...sorry. (I just had to beat Kip at updating our stories.)

The High One

This is only a brief overview of The High One since _____’s full narrative would fill up an entire book.

Long ago, before people were, in the star Leus* which all of Snirlin calls the sun, the Keepers of The System** got into an argument. The High One, who was in charge of Leus, started feeling important. So he got all the other keepers to a meeting and announced his decision to become supreme commander of Leus.

In his words “…I will be supreme commander…all other systems will look to me for their examples…blah, blah, blah…I call everyone who will support this dream...come to me…the future is ours…Leus will be a better place...

This may take a few updates since my inspiration has left me and I’m feeling confused. But never fear, I will return after I have figured it out.

**The Keepers of The System are in charge of building, destroying, and keeping harmony within their solar system. There were 16 keepers in Leus before the fall of The High One.

Chapter nine

Brothers

As soon as MOSIS (Most Of the Scientists in Snirlin) heard about the Firefly's photo shoot they sent an official request form to the king to ask permission to study the pictures, interrogate the firefly, and use any other means possible to discover exactly how the FF are disappearing.  They also asked for enough money to build a personal firefly for each of the remaining FF. It was all granted.

-------

All of the people of Snirlin, as soon as they heard about the mouse, set out to exterminate, eradicate, and otherwise decimate the vermin. They scoured the land from the ocean to the Dark Mountains until no more mice were to be found.* However, they did not take into account that this mouse was specially equipped. For instance, he did not vanish when cut up by the FF swords in the tallest tower in the longest wing of the castle.

Let us now return to that slimy squeaker and see how he is faring.

-------

On the darkest of nights, 15 days after he left, a shadow could be seen on the ledge of the dungeon window. It paused for a few seconds, as if it were unsure of its safety, then leaped to the floor and scampered across to the secret door.

A few magic words, and dull grey light, and the library slowly appeared. All was still. The life that was evident in all of Snirlin disappeared in this place. The oversized office chair turned with a slight creak. The Mouse flinched. He always flinched when ____ appeared. His lidless eyes drilled holes in everything he looked at. Even though ____ gave The Mouse his power it was only fear of The High One that kept The Mouse from fleeing to the Dark Mountains- a place where even ____ would not go.

"I have brought all that were alive."

"How may?"

"Only fifteen."

"&^*%$#@ so few remain---And all because of your stupidity! I should sent you to Gurlen.**"

"Oh great and terrible ____ I am only a lowly varmint but maybe if you had given me a small portion of your evil wisdom when I was transformed we could have avoided this most terrible calamity."

"You will be silent unless I ask you to speak. Now tell me, where are these 15 mice that you speak of."

"They are right outside. Under the window."

"Well, Bring them to me."

The Mouse disappeared for a moment and then returned with his family.

As The Mouse had prepared them in part for this meeting they all stood and chanted "We are honored----We are chosen --- by terrible ____ ---who's words are frozen."

I'm sure if _____ had any appreciation for poetry he would have closed his eyes, leaned back in his chair, and asked them to repeat it---for as you can plainly see, it is one of the finest rhymes of all time. But alas, He did not have an appreciation for anything, save the decimation of all good.

"I called you here," began ____  "to help in the furthering of The High One's dynasty. Do you all know of The High One?"

Silence

"In the future when I speak I will be answered at once! Now, I ask again. Do you know The High One?"

"Uhhh…….no…..sir…..teriible.." squeaked mouse 9

_____ sighed, "must I do everything? What is Snirlin coming too when even the rodents do not pass on their legacy? I will tell you only that which you must know for time is short. It is a long and gruesome story but one which any rodent should be proud of."

Next chapter will be about The High One. I'm tired of writing. I'm not feeling very funny right now so neither are my characters K

* Just in case you are worried about the stench, remember that dead things vanish. Really, if you think about it, this is a good thing. No smell, ugly bones, vultures, maggots, etc…

**The High One resigns here.

Chapter Eight

FF13

He was climbing up the stairs to the tallest tower in the longest wing of the castle searching for even the smallest piece of evidence. Suddenly the firefly started screaming. He reached for his radio but it was gone. He pulled out his HK-53. The trigger was missing. Grabbing for his sword he realized that his hand went right through the handle.

As his vision blurred he looked up and saw the firefly hovering above him taking snap shots of his disintegration. Nothing made sense anymore. All of life seemed like a waste. He felt the floor give way. But instead of collapsing onto it his legs sank into the castle floor like it was water. With growing horror he realized that ______ had done this to him.**

* This occurred 15 days after the search began.

**When intelligent life vanishes into oblivion, the brain ages many times over in the course of each second. Therefore FF13 was intelligent enough at this point to figure out why he died.
